Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – 1:1 SEN Support
Location: Dubai, UAE
Salary: AED 5,000 per month (Non-Negotiable)
Contract: Full Academic Year
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Standard School Hours
Orbit Care Recruitment is seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a wonderful 5year old with additional needs in a school setting.
This is a rewarding role for an experienced SEN professional who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
About the Child
The child has a rare genetic disorder with associated:
- Global developmental delay (predominantly gross motor)
- Hypotonia (low muscle tone)
- Communication delay (receptive language stronger than expressive; understands both English and Arabic)
- Sensory processing differences
- Delayed interoception
The child is toilet trained but requires prompting and occasional assistance during bathroom routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support throughout the school day.
- Implement strategies recommended by the child's Occupational Therapist (OT) and Physiotherapist (PT).
- Support communication, independence and participation in classroom activities.
- Deliver sensory regulation strategies where appropriate.
- Assist with toileting prompts and personal care when required.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship while encouraging confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents to support the child's development.
Essential Requirements
Please do not apply unless you meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as an LSA, SEN Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Worker.
- Experience supporting young children with developmental delays and/or sensory processing needs.
- Background in Early Childhood Education, Special Educational Needs (SEN), Psychology or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child development and inclusive learning practices.
- Excellent spoken English.
- Professional references demonstrating previous SEN experience.
Highly Desirable
- Training in Sensory Integration.
- Experience using PECS, visual supports or alternative communication methods.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Experience working alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
Salary
AED 5,000 per month.
This salary is fixed and is strictly non-negotiable. Applicants seeking a higher salary should not apply.
