A family is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support for their daughter entering Grade 3 at GEMS Dubai American Academy (American Curriculum). The ideal candidate will have a teaching background and previous experience supporting children with additional learning and developmental needs, particularly in the areas of social development, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges.
This role involves supporting the child within the school environment and, on occasion, providing additional support and observation sessions at the family home in Mirdif.
Location: Dubai, UAE (School-Based at GEMS Dubai American Academy and Home-Based Support in Mirdif)
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: AED 5,000 – 7,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience)

Candidate must hold their own visa.
Key Responsibilities:
School-Based Support
- Provide one-to-one support throughout the school day.
- Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
- Support attention, focus, organisation, and task completion.
- Implement strategies to support ADHD and sensory regulation.
- Encourage positive peer interactions and social development.
- Foster independence while providing appropriate guidance and support.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistency of support.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback regarding academic, social, and behavioural development.
Home-Based Support
- Attend and observe after-school sessions at the family home in Mirdif twice per week until approximately 4:00 PM.
- Support the implementation of strategies recommended by therapists or educators.
- Reinforce social skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and independence skills.
- Provide observations and feedback to parents as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or qualification in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Shadow Teacher, SEN Assistant, Teacher, or similar role.
- Experience supporting children with ADHD and/or sensory processing differences.
- Strong understanding of behaviour support, social development, and inclusive educational practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Patient, proactive, nurturing, and professional approach.
- Fluent English speaker.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within American curriculum schools.
- Knowledge of sensory regulation strategies and executive functioning support.
- Experience liaising with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and therapists.
