Location: Dubai British School Jumeirah (DBS), Dubai, UAE
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Duration: September 2026 – July 2027 (10-month academic year plus camp commitments)

About the Role

A dedicated, experienced, and proactive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is sought to provide one-to-one support for a bright and engaging Year 2 boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) beginning in September 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher, inclusion team, therapists, and parents to support the student's academic progress, communication, social development, emotional regulation, and independence within the school environment.

This is a parent-funded position based at Dubai British School Jumeirah.

Preferred Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

* Male (preferred for this individual student's support needs)
* Have previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Have formal training or practical experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
* Have experience working within a mainstream primary school setting
* Demonstrate patience, consistency, professionalism, and a positive attitude
* Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents
* Be reliable, organised, and committed to promoting the student's independence
* Have excellent spoken and written English
*Must have own Visa 

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one support throughout the school day.
* Assist the student in accessing the Year 2 curriculum.
* Implement strategies recommended by teachers and therapists.
* Use ABA-informed approaches and positive behaviour support strategies where appropriate.
* Support communication, attention, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
* Encourage participation in classroom learning and school activities.
* Promote independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
* Collect observational data and contribute to progress monitoring when required.
* Liaise professionally with the class teacher, inclusion team, therapists, and parents.
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday:  8:15 am – 3:15 pm

Friday: 8:15 am – 11:30 am

Attendance may occasionally be required for school events, trips, meetings, or parent conferences.

Contract and Camp Commitments

The position includes:

* Full 10-month academic year
* Two weeks of Winter Camp – **attendance required**
* Two weeks of Spring Camp – **attendance required**
* Two weeks of Summer Camp – **attendance required**

Any other additional days off such as inset days, bank holiday, additional camps will be paid to LSA in full even if attendance is not required.

Salary

AED 60,000 fixed salary** for the full contract period including interim camps

The salary is fixed and is not subject to additional payment for the above camp commitments.

Essential Qualifications

* Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* ABA certification or relevant ABA experience is highly desirable
* Qualification in education, psychology, special educational needs, behavioral therapy, or a related field
* Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, ABA Therapist, Behavior Technician, or similar role
* First Aid certification is advantageous
